How to Set Up Your GMB Listing

Step 1

Log in to your Google email account or create one if you don’t have one yet.

Step 2

Go to and choose Start Now.

Step 3

Provide your business name.

Step 4

Provide your business address.

Step 5

Choose an answer to:  How do you deliver goods and services to your customers? (Helpful tip: Your answer to this question will determine whether your GMB lists your address for the public to see. This is really important for business owners who use their home address for their business address but don’t service clients at their home. If this is the case, as it is for mobile mechanics, promotional companies, carpet cleaning companies, etc, please choose “I deliver goods and services to my customers.” If you don’t, Google will list your home address on your profile. And you (probably) don’t want people ringing your doorbell, looking for your services.

Step 6

Select your business category. Make it as close to the options as possible.

Step 7

Provide your business phone number and business website. Helpful tip: If you don’t yet have a website (contact us and we’ll get you set up), use a link to your business’ most popular social network profile.

Step 8

Select a verification option. You can do it by postcard, by phone, by email, instant verification, and bulk verification.


Once you’re done with the verification, you have successfully created your business listing!!

Please note: Sometimes you’re only able to verify by postcard. If this happens, you’ll receive your postcard within 5-7 days. If for some reason it takes longer than 7 days, log back into your dashboard at, and simply request another card. Don’t worry – sometimes they get hung up. Once you get the card, log back into and enter your verification number.
